I wanted to show some of the stuff Iv’e been creating for Imaginary Grounds, and thought of posting some images, but I decided to man up, stop being lazy and make a small trailer (which took like half an hour… so much for manning up).
I have decided upon a new logo for myself and my site. Logo number 2! After much contemplation (about two minutes of staring off into space), I decided to use the second logo, with the split profile of me and the Jumping Monkey character. I chose this because it is very similar to my first logo, but still using my favorite mascot that I first created when starting the site.
And yes, for those of you whose noticed, it does resemble the Rhett and Link logo
I did not do this purposely, in fact, at first I meant to have the front of our faces split, but I later realized that not only would this be twice as difficult as doing the sides, but it wold stray from the original Jumping Monkey logo. I did, however, use the collar at the bottom of their necks as with Rhett and Link.
As for the reason I changed the logo, well, there are several.
- The old logo said “Jumo”, which I try not to use anymore since I changed my site address.
- The old on was a little stale.
- I had been wanting a cooler “monkey” logo for a while
- And oddly, my main reason was that I had just gotten a 30 day trial for Adobe Illustrator and wanted to try it out. The other new logo I made was the first thing I have ever made with Illustrator, I had never used a vector based program before, so I had to watch a tutorial. Next thing I knew I was tracing my first logo with the pen tool and BANG! Insta-logo!

I just finished the new rig update, and although it is not yet available, I have successfully refined the UV wrapping to perfection, and go the rig to support 1.8 skins. Here is proof! So, I look forward to making this available! See you then!
In case you haven’t seen the last post either, here is another sweet improvement to the rig: improved arm and leg bending!
Well here it is as I promised! A gaming video! There will be more videos in the future of course, but this one is the first. Enjoy!
As some may have noticed my site has been “private” for a week or so, but it is up now. See “Home” for more information.
So, future site update, yeah, I’m pretty much gonna redo most of the site, graphics, style, layout, keeping the content mind you. But I’m also working on the official Jumping Monkey character… in 3d! So far Iv’e got the basic head and ears. Other than this I really haven’t posted the character on this site much anyway, but there are a few exceptions (https://jumpingmonkeyart.wordpress.com/2014/05/08/atists-club/) (https://jumpingmonkeyart.wordpress.com/2014/05/06/bananas-sketch/) And yes, I do realize that more than few projects have been put on hold in the process, but… aurgh! The ideas won’t stop coming! Anywho, here is the sneak peak.
It was my first time ever using the hair particle system, and I had a heck of a time getting the fur right, But it ended up turning out alright. But, he’d better be good because he is going to be on the header. So I hope that works out. And there are a bunch of other exiting things happening as well. Recently I was asked to create a simple checker board for Skip Wilson (https://skipcasts.com/) and he ended up using it a couple places (https://skipcasts.com/blog/post/1/) and the other is a scene kit tutorial that is for pros. Skip Wilson has really great tutorials that are helpful if you want to program swift, so I encourage all who want to to sign up.
A couple last thing before I finish up: I already have an operational Vimeo account, and I’m planning to do gaming videos on it and possible animations at one point. The comics site will be merged with main one during the update. And I think that’s it, see ya.
Check out these tutorials by Skip Wilson on how to program the new language: swift… and maybe you’ll even end up working for apple.
Finally! Series twelve is coming, and here’s a list of names.
