(Let image load, or just click on it to speed up the process)This is a project I decided to do to get a little more comfortable with my new Wacom Cintiq 13HD, which I was fortunate enough to receive from my grandparents for Christmas (THANK YOU!!!) I really enjoy the ability to draw on a surface. It significantly naturalizes my drawing style when doing digital work, letting me stay loose for sketches and precise for inking and other tasks. Not to mention the admantages of having two screens. I’m really thankful.
This animation took me all day of straight working, and was done solely in Sketchbook Pro. Here is the animation timing and layout sketch I did using the flip book feature.
The finished was not as smooth, unfortunately. I have a lot to learn about animation. But I do love it when the pen goes in his mouth, Looks better than I imagined.
Here’s the face concept sketch.
Special thanks to all my family and friends who allow me to do all this stuff through buying me equipment and encouragement. I can’t say how much I appreciate you guys.
As many of you have noted, it has been a while since I have last posted. The reason for this is that I have been receiving a constant stream of jobs lately, and don’t really have the time and energy to dedicate to a decent post. I would post some of my jobs, but the content attached to some of them may not be ready to be released upon the works finish. However, I have been doing a lot of random sketches and such in my sketch books lately, with a good ‘ol pencil and paper. Nothing good enough for me to comfortably post though. I’m basically saying that I have not forgotten, and there is much I will be posting in the future.
Now, excuse me while I get sick on corn chips.
